The louage: cheap but with no timetable
The louage is an eight-seat shared minibus linking the main towns. It leaves the station as soon as it is full, with no fixed timetable.
- Pros: the cheapest option, frequent departures during the day.
- Cons: you have to get to the station, there is little room for luggage, and departures become scarce in the evening.
The train: comfortable, city centre to city centre
Trains run between Tunis and Sousse several times a day, from central station to central station. It's a good option if you are staying near Sousse station.
- Pros: reasonable price, no traffic worries.
- Cons: fixed timetables, an extra journey to the hotel, and no direct link from the airport.
The private taxi: door to door
A private transfer picks you up at the airport, your hotel or your home and drops you right at your destination, at the time you choose.
- Pros: no changes, as much luggage as the vehicle can hold, available day and night.
- Cons: more expensive for a solo traveller, but very competitive from 3 or 4 people.

Our advice
For a solo traveller with a backpack, the louage or the train will do. For a family, a group or a late arrival at the airport, a private taxi is often the simplest option, and the price shared between several passengers becomes very reasonable.
About 1 h 20 via the motorway, pick-up at the airport or at your address.
